Fascinating snow landscapes and untouched nature – airberlin is now offering the world’s only flight to the North Pole for the 10th time. On 1 May 2017, Germany’s second-largest airline will take off from Berlin-Tegel for the twelve-hour adventure over the Arctic and to the North Pole.
In cooperation with AirEvents, airberlin will allow its passengers to explore this breathtaking landscape comfortably from the air in an A330-200. The route runs along the Norwegian coast to Spitzbergen and continues to the North Pole where all the passengers onboard will toast their arrival at the North Pole with a glass of Champagne. The shortest round-the-world trip will then be flown in a 360° circle. The return route will take them over northeast Greenland and Iceland.
The polar flight will not only offer visual, but also in terms of taste many highlights: in addition to breakfast, a morning snack and an elegant dinner, airberlin will be offering an open bar concept on this special flight with select alcoholic beverages available starting at noon. Onboard readings will put the passengers in an arctic mood.
The special flight to the North Pole will be booked by passengers from all over the world and is a favourite gift for wedding anniversaries and big birthdays. “The highlight in the history of all the North Pole flights was undoubtedly when I married a couple over the North Pole region in 2015,” says Wilhelm Heinz, Captain at airberlin.
